This year, on October 19th (the 3rd Saturday of October), the C-Street Zombie Corps presents:
Thriller on C-Street 2024: The Macabre Promenade. (Our 14th annual street performance!)
It is a 6-block parade with multiple performances spanning the entire Commercial Street Historic District! Festivities will begin around 7pm, with our goal to perform Thriller on C-Street on Commercial Street between Lyon at Campbell at or shortly after 7pm. We’ll move east performing 4 more times, between Campbell and Boonville, then between Boonville and Robberson, again between Robberson and Jefferson, and the final performance between Benton and Washington. The entire production is expected to span approximately 90 minutes.

In days ancient and forgotten, Dr. Savoy Deadalous was traveling the world with his circus sideshow and a cast of misfits that were more family than sideshow troupe. Being a misfit himself and feeling disconnected from the world, he sought a mystical path that would unite his troupe for all eternity.
Prof. Joynoir Erasmus was his troupe magician and they began a dark quest in search of a sorcerous enchantment that would bring immortality to the entire troupe. One dark and dreadful evening on the eve of All Hallow’s Night, the pair met under the cloak of night to cast their spell. Unbeknownst to them, something went terribly wrong. Dr. Deadalous did achieve immortality but at a terrible cost. His troupe of misfits were drained of life and transfigured to live forever…as zombies.
Over the years a dire truth became evident. To remain immortal and to care for his family, Dr. Deadalous was cursed to raise the dead and drain others of life. In order to cover his dreadful deeds, he travels with his zombie freak show. In his travels, he has found that one song and one song only can calm the dead and bring order to their existence…Thriller!
Thriller on C-Street is a free production open to the general public.
While the use of “zombies” and other occult themes are utilized throughout the production, the participants and organizers do not express any religious affiliations to the occult or supernatural. This event and performance is merely an homage to the original spirit of music, dance, and art reflected and inspired by Michael Jackson’s original Thriller performance.
Thriller on C-Street is a community-minded event and street performance that is intended to perpetuate the positive influences of music, art, and dance, to all people, whether participants or spectators.

Thriller on C-Street will span Commercial Street between Lyon and Washington with performances in 4 different blocks and we cannot guaranty the safety of your car.
We’ll start the street closure to through traffic at 6:45pm. The parade route will utilize a Rolling Closure that will only close sections as necessary. The street will be completely open again for through traffic and public parking around 8:30 p.m..

“Thriller” is a dance/performance based on Michael Jackson’s performance in the original music video released in late 1983 for the hit song by the same name, “Thriller“. The C-Street Zombie Corps under the guidance/instruction of Dance With Me, performs choreography that is derived from the original video and extended to fit the entire song.

“C-Street Zombie Corps” is a not-for-profit, dance club, organized by
Dance With Me that practices and performs “
Thriller” throughout the year, culminating in the annual production of “Thriller on C-Street”!
“Dance With Me” is one of the largest and most accomplished dance studios in Southwest Missouri specializing in Social Dance Instruction.
Come take a class. It’s only $10 per class, plus you can join the C-Street Zombie Corps for $75 for the rest of your life! Members participate in classes/practices throughout the year, plus we perform throughout the year for various events for fun!

If you wish to dance Thriller with us in the street performance, you will need to be a current Zombie Corps member and attend our classes to learn the choreography to perform with us. A minimum of three classes are required to keep your membership active, and certainly, the more you do with us, the easier the choreography will become and the better you will get at performing Thriller! We encourage our dancers to take the class many times throughout the year because each time you do it, you will get better!
Ages 10 and up. We’ve had dancers in our group ranging from 10 to 80 years of age. We’ve had dancers perform with us ranging from peak athletes to those recovering from injuries or surgery. The choreography can be performed as intense as your physical abilities will allow.
Join us at the Ruthie’s on C-Street for after-party and drinks, as well as many zombies and zombie friends will end up at White River Brewing, Moon City Pub, Q-Enoteca, and Lindberg’s so plan on partying on C-Street!
